Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the 1st Choice Detox Treatment Center facility like?

We’re a residential home in a quiet Granada Hills neighborhood, not a clinical institution. The house has shared living and group spaces, a full kitchen and dining room, and outdoor areas including a backyard, pool, and patio lounge. The setting is intentionally calm, because early recovery is hard enough without sterile environment.

We’re a six-bed facility. That’s deliberate. With a small census, our clinical and medical team knows every client personally and care stays genuinely individualized. It’s a different experience from a large facility treating dozens of people at once.

Rooms are shared. In early recovery that’s often a benefit rather than a drawback, because having someone else in the room reduces isolation during the hardest days, and peer connection is part of what makes residential treatment work.

Bring comfortable clothes, a journal, your laptop if you need it for work, and anything sentimental that helps you feel grounded. The restrictions are simple: no drugs, no alcohol, and nothing that could be triggering to you or to other clients. Our admissions team will go over anything you’re unsure about before you arrive.

Can my family visit during treatment?

Yes. Visits are scheduled with your care team so they fit around clinical programming. Staying connected to the people who support you matters in recovery, and we’ll work with you and your family to arrange time together.

Yes. Lunch and dinner are prepared for clients, and there’s a full kitchen available if you’d like to make something yourself.

Common living areas with smart TVs and streaming, games, a dining room and shared kitchen, plus outdoor space with a backyard, pool, and patio lounge for downtime between programming.

We’re at 11651 Woodley Avenue, Granada Hills, CA 91344, in a residential neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. Admission starts with a phone assessment, so please call (844) 944-3139 before traveling to us.
