At 1st Choice Detox Treatment Center, we don’t just help you stop using — we prepare you for a full life in recovery. From medically supervised detox to real-world aftercare planning, every service we offer is built around one goal: lasting sobriety.

Most people entering treatment don’t know what to look for — or what they deserve. At 1st Choice Detox Treatment Center, we believe you should know exactly what ethical, high-quality care looks like before you walk through any door, including ours.
An ethical treatment center is transparent about its credentials. It employs qualified clinical staff. It treats the whole person — not just the addiction. It plans for your life after treatment from day one. And it never prioritizes beds over people.
That is the standard we hold ourselves to, every single day, for every single client.
Every service at 1st Choice Detox Treatment Center is designed to address the physical, emotional, and practical dimensions of recovery — because lasting sobriety requires all three
24/7 physician-supervised detox from alcohol, opioids, benzos, meth, and more — managed with evidence-based comfort medications and continuous monitoring. Attempting detox alone can be life-threatening. We keep you safe, comfortable, and stable from day one.
After detox, our structured residential program gives you a calm, supported environment to stabilize physically and emotionally before stepping into the next phase of recovery. Round-the-clock clinical and nursing care, individualized planning, and daily therapeutic activities are all included.
Over 90% of people with addiction have a co-occurring mental health condition — anxiety, depression, PTSD, or trauma. We treat both simultaneously so neither goes unaddressed, which is one of the leading causes of relapse when ignore
One-on-one sessions with licensed clinicians to identify and work through the root causes driving your addiction. We use CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed approaches tailored to you specifically
Structured, therapist-facilitated sessions that build community, accountability, and real coping skills. Many clients say the bonds formed in group became the foundation of their long-term support network.
Addiction affects everyone who loves the person struggling. We bring families into the healing process to rebuild trust, improve communication, and prepare loved ones to support recovery without enabling it.
We accompany clients to offsite AA and NA meetings — not as a formality, but so attending feels familiar and comfortable before you’re on your own. Most facilities tell you about meetings. We walk in the door with you.
Sobriety has to work in the real world. We build daily structure, stress management, communication, and employment readiness into treatment so you leave genuinely prepared — not just sober.
We start planning your post-treatment life on day one — not the last day. You leave with a complete, personalized aftercare plan: next-step placement coordinated, outpatient resources lined up, and your support network engaged.
These numbers are why we exist. The treatment gap in America is staggering — and the people who do seek help deserve a center that takes that responsibility seriously. At 1st Choice Detox Treatment Center, we do.

We provide medically supervised detox and residential treatment on site at our Granada Hills facility, along with dual diagnosis care and medication-assisted treatment. Most clients spend 5 to 10 days in detox and continue into residential treatment for roughly 30 days total. When you’re ready to step down, we coordinate placement with partner PHP, IOP, and outpatient providers.
Most days start between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and follow a consistent structure: morning group, meditation, process groups, and individual therapy, with psychiatric check-ins once or twice a week. The framework stays the same for everyone, but we give each client room to move at their own pace, so no two days look exactly alike.
Our clinical program uses evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, delivered through individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy when clinically appropriate. We also include life skills and reintegration work to help you prepare for life after treatment.
Yes. Our DHCS license includes approval to provide incidental medical services, which allows our physician to prescribe and manage medications on site as part of your treatment plan. MAT is used alongside therapy, not instead of it, and whether it’s right for you is a clinical decision made with your care team.
Yes. Many people entering treatment are also managing anxiety, depression, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. Our dual diagnosis care addresses substance use and mental health together, with psychiatric check-ins built into the weekly schedule, because treating only one often leaves the other unaddressed.
Yes. Once clients have completed detox, our staff accompanies them to AA and NA meetings one to two times per week, and we’re open to any fellowship that helps someone build a recovery community. We don’t treat meetings as the whole program — they’re free and available to anyone — so we focus our clinical time on resources people can’t access on their own, while making sure you leave knowing how to use meetings as a long-term tool.
Family therapy is available when it’s clinically appropriate for your situation. Addiction affects the whole family, and rebuilding those relationships is often part of recovery, so your care team will talk with you about whether and when family sessions make sense in your plan.
Your care team builds an aftercare plan before you discharge. Depending on what you need, that can include placement with a partner outpatient provider, sober living coordination, continued therapy, and a plan for staying connected to a recovery community. The goal is that you leave with a next step already in place, not just a discharge date.
Many PPO plans cover medical detox and residential treatment. We work with carriers including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, and Cigna. We do not accept HMO plans, Medicaid, or Medi-Cal. Verification is free and confidential, and we’ll explain any out-of-pocket costs before you commit. We also accept private pay — call (844) 944-3139 for a quote.
